The Kentucky-born songwriter/vocalist readily disappears into writing sessions for hours on end at her Brooklyn studio across the East River from Manhattan. What results are energized lyrical melodies of unabated love, heart-wrenching loss and triumphant perseverance with a southern rock flair that remains true to her country/pop roots.
The granddaughter of a country musician, Rhodes grew up listening to the standards by Gene Autry and Hank Williams, and calls out the likes of Shania, Dolly and Tanya as present-day role models. Foremost, Rhodes sees herself as a vibrant storyteller and loyal friend whose advice on life is “take from it all that you can.”
