Brooklyn, NY VIBRATONE RECORDS was founded in a Brooklyn bar by three friends who love music but had a hard time finding music they love. So they decided to do something about it, and created a label whose sole purpose was to find artists with a great sound and give them the freedom to bring that sound to the public.
Combining crunchy riffage, burbling synthetics, head shaking harmonies and manic pop melodicism, HeadQuarters jam power pop into new wave and run it through their neo-psychedelic carburetor. Calling Robert Pollard: your new favorite band is here" -Amplifier
"HeadQuarters Tunnel Vision is awash with swirling effects, subtle eastern embellishments and the kind of power popping 60s beat bop that suggests evenings gathered around the stereophonic playing device digging pre Tommy Who and Pictures of Matchstick Men era Status Quo wax platters." - Losing Today (UK)
"Rock and Roll is going through a power pop phase. Remember The Raspberries, The Pez Band, The Romantics? Add the New York Quintet HeadQuarters." -The Boston Globe
Les Sans Culottes
New York City's number one fake French band, Brooklyn's Les Sans Culottes have taken the whole faux-French-band thing pretty far--the group's live shows are superenergetic, fake-multicultural events."
- Time Out
"The Brooklyn ensemble Les Sans Culottes play raunchy faux-French rock and roll that's both a sendup of and a tribute to the dark tunes of late-period Serge Gainsbourg and punchy ye-ye girl pop."
- The New Yorker
"...fuzz-toned guitars, electric organ, cooing female voices and know-it-all male growls."
- The New York Times
"Brooklyn-based Tide gives British mega-band Coldplay a run for its corporate money with the soaring melodies on wall-of-sound anthems... too ambitious for a pure pop record, too catchy not to be." -Arrive Magazine
"Tidy songs in awe of the Kinks and Sir Paul." -Time Out New York
"The hooks they leave behind will swirl around in your brain leaving you blissful and wanting more." -WUSM Radio
